Here's a youtube preview of a caspar client I've been working on. Its HTML + Javascript (angularjs).
All ideas, comments, thoughts for future development welcome.
Re: StudioLive - Caspar Client Preview
#2Hi cambell,
really a nice client.
I like the idea of show - scene - action.
But the video on yt has a terrible sound. It's hard to watch it till the end :-(
Will this client be available for free or do you plan to sell it when it's ready?
cheers

Re: StudioLive - Caspar Client Preview
#3I'm planning on it being free for single use (i.e. as a standalone client). I was going to make a multi user version with login / authentication / rights etc for multiple users that would be a paid product to pay for that kind of development if there was demand for it.

Re: StudioLive - Caspar Client Preview
#5Couple of ideas:
1/ option to remove the previews.
2/ in/out buttons should change colour to show they are active (or not).
Other than that, very nice!

#6Very cool !
Is there anyway that you could assign keyboard shortcuts to the In/Out functions? Thinking of X-Keys and newsroom functions.

#7@Steveo Good ideas. Thanks.
@Stevespaw Yes, I can do keyboard short cuts.

#8Really interested in seeing this one come to life- any plans to release the html/js source
for this one in the near future?
for this one in the near future?
Re: StudioLive - Caspar Client Preview
#9Using the streaming producer to embed a client preview was genius... (or I just have a limited mind)!
Have you considered taking advantage of the thumbnail generator? Any videos/bitmaps in the show list could be represented visually as well.

#10@kyelewis Source is available on github: https://github.com/saygoweb/studiolive The list things to do is here: https://trello.com/b/dChvuzOw/saygo-studiolive
If anyone is interested I'm happy for other to contribute.
I've got some ideas of how this can be extended to work well for sports and gameshows.

#11I've got a windows installer available if anyone would like to try it out. Very much an alpha at this stage, but for all you living on the bleeding edge types here it is.

Re: StudioLive - Caspar Client
#13The installer will definitely be win32. So the installer should work, I just downloaded it off google drive and it works for me on Win7 64 bit. The mongoose is 32 bit, the mongod may well be the 64 bit version I think. I always use 64 bit systems these days so I'll just make that the minimum requirement. Windows 7 64 bit home premium or better. If you are on a win 64 system and you mean that the installer doesn't work then you most likely have a corrupt download so I suggest downloading it and trying it again on a win 64 system. I've updated the 'readme' to indicate the minimum windows os.
If you really want to use this on a win32 system to try it out then you can download the mongo database from here http://www.mongodb.org/downloads Do read their warnings about the limitations of the 32 bit version. I do not recommend running this seriously on a win32 system.
@palco It would be great if you could add more information when you find something doesn't work. Saying 'it isn't a valid win32 application' really doesn't provide enough info. It begs the obvious questions. a) What is 'it', the installer? The installed application? Some other exe? b) What OS is this guy using? Is it xp, vista, win 7. Is it 32 bit or 64 bit?

I plan to Caspar working on a new computer with Windows 7 64 bit, but I just wanted to try your client it on a computer with Windows XP 32 bit.
Re: StudioLive - Caspar Client
#16Yes, that looks right. If you've been able to create a new show and scene then the database is working. You need to go into the Show | Actions tab (on the page that lists the scenes there's a Action tab. In there you can add 'actions' which are sequences of caspar commands that you want to use for the show. See the video for a quick guided tour.
Re: StudioLive - Caspar Client
#17I've shipped a couple of updates in the last day or two. Checkout the latest here.
Re: StudioLive - Caspar Client
#18Now test the windows 7 64 bit.Works.
I do not know how to test it as.Let's say a video file and template.

Re: StudioLive - Caspar Client
#19Oops, turns out the windows version wasn't communicating with Caspar. That's now fixed and available in 0.9.9,
